Royal jelly - "the elixir of youth"

In today's article we would like to bring closer another bee product, that is used for production of cosmetics by Honey Therapy. It is a royal jelly known as the elixir of youth.

Royal jelly is a substance produced by young 3-9 day worker bees, it is is a secretion of the hypopharyngeal glands and it is used to feed worker bees and drones larvae during first days of life. Quen bee is fed royal jelly for her entire life. There is a reason, it is hard to find so strong, concentrated, nutritional substance as royal jelly. It has been already used in ancient Greece, it was believed to have been part of ambrosia, drink of the gods.

Aristotle is the first, who discovered its role in bees life, concluding, that consumption of royal jelly will increase physical strength and intellectual capacities. The first use of royal jelly in cosmetic industry took place in ancient Egypt. In Asia it was used in natural medicine. Nowadays we use it in apitherapy. In the second half of the 20th century, scientists, by using freeze-drying process, extended its biological activity, thanks to that the time limit for storage and usage lenghtened. Royal jelly has gel texture and creamy coloration. In taste it is sweet, more often tangy-sour, depending on the origin, harvest time and biological bees properties as well.

Royal jelly is one of the richest in amino acids source. It contains at least 17 amino acids and a few derivatives, unidentified  substances. Among these amino-acids there are large amounts of proline, that participates in collagen and elastin synthesis, ensuring moisturizing, elasticity and strenghtening the connective tissue. It has antibacterial, antiviral, lifting and rejuvenating actions. It regenerates damaged tissue, supports wound healing and reduces over-drying the skin. It reduces the symptoms of seborrhea, acne and androgenic hair loss. It treats inflammatory states of all kinds, bedsores and burns. Good effects are obtained after using royal jelly in inflammatory states of the mucous membrane in the mouth cavity, throat, tongue and gums and in case of herpes.

Royal jelly is widely used in the cosmetic industry. especially in skin renovation. We can find it in the composition of creams, lotions and licquids.  It can be applied to every type of skin. We applied it for production of Honey Therapy cosmetics, such as body lotions and exfoliation of the White Phantasy series.

FACE MASK FOR NORMAL SKIN

In order to make the ointment, prepare:

• 1 yolk
• 1 tbsp of olive oil
• 1 g of pure royal jelly

Mix up everything together, after that leave it on your face for 30 minutes, and then rinse it with warm water.

FACE MASK FOR OILY SKIN

• 1 beaten egg white
• 1 tsp of youghurt
• 1 tsp of honey
• 1 tsp of fresh brans
• 1 g of pure royal jelly

Mix up everything together, leave it on your face for 30 minutes.

FACE MASK FOR DRY SKIN

• 2 tsp of milk
• 1 tsp of honey
• 1 tsp of fresh wheat brans
• 1g of pure royal jelly

Mix up everything together, leave it on your face for 25-30 minutes. Rinse it with lukewarm water.
